Ten Fashion MUST HAVES you should add to your wardrobe

Each season there’s a handful of items that everyone can integrate into their wardrobe to keep their look updated, hip and current. Below you will see my fashion must haves this season but unless money is no object it might be hard to buy them all, so I suggest just invest in the ones that you feel confident in and are right for you.

So here is my top 10 list for this season:

1. Boots, boots, boots

They kick any outfit up a notch and I can’t stress this point enough. Booties, ankle boots, calf-high and knee-high boots either casual or dressy are statement pieces and absolute winners.

2. Clutches

“The bag of the season” and they don’t need to cost the earth. You’ll get away with a perfectly fine looking 100 AED clutch for an “of the moment” going out look.

3. Pastels

The trend has been around for 3 consecutive seasons and there’s no end in sight. It’s time to indulge in pastels. Whether lilac, pink, lemon or duck egg blue, expect to see an array of fashion’s prettiest shades.

4. Checks

It looks as if heritage checks are going nowhere for the season ahead. You can see them in coats, floaty feminine styles, bold colour prints – Just expect to see its check caps everywhere.

5. Fringing

Fringing made a surprise comeback this season. Far from its most recent (very tired) festival incarnations, the designers/catwalk have  have given them a sophisticated, empowered appeal.

6. Bold colour

Next summer will be very bright indeed if the catwalks are anything to go by. From New York to Paris, the shows were awash with vibrant, bold shades to suit every colouring. Either a top, coat, shoe, handbag, scarf, hat or all of the above to celebrate the glorious resurgence of colour.

7. Lantern sleeve top or jacket

This type of volume is easy to wear and interesting to look at.

8. Transparent

Go clear this season with all your favorite designers. Chanel convinced us we need an OTK rain boot, Tibi’s has us considering over a plastic corset, and Off-White’s plastic-wrapped collab with Jimmy Choo already man a fan out of Rihanna. Consider it a more demure take on the ubiquitous naked dress.

9. White Suiting

If fall suiting belonged to gray plaid, then spring is all about a clean slate. The white suit isn’t just for prim and proper presidential events either, but was cut as an oversized tux at Adam Lippes, styled with a bra at Tom Ford, and went Saturday Night Fever with Acne Studios

10. The Fanny Pack

We can deny it no longer: the fanny pack is here to stay. No matter your aesthetic, there’s a hip-slung bag for you: strap on a sporty number from Rihanna’s runway, go minimalist with Rochas, or wear it on the diagonal with Balenciaga.

And thats a wrap of my Fashion MUST HAVES – have I missed anything out? What will you be investing in and what will you not?
