Hotel rooms in the UAE with private pools

My husband and I have recently had twins (currently they are 3 months old) and we wanted to book a stay vacation in November for the reasons listed below:

  1. A stay vacation specifically so we can drive and not worry about flying – just throw everything (and I mean everything) in the car and get to the hotel in under one hour of leaving home -ideal when you have baby twins
  2. Something to look forward to – ok this sounds awful as we have just had two beautiful babies – so what’s not to look forward to but life now is very different and I always loved holidays so I am really excited about this trip and taking the girls
  3. This is motivation to get back into shape and wear swimwear – must lose a stone!! Ekkk
  4. There are so many amazing hotel in this area – why make it harder and more expensive to travel when for most of the time we will be staying in the room
  5. Finally, the weather in the UAE will be just perfect in November so really it makes sense to stay local

Basically we wanted somewhere to stay that was easy with the twins and what would be more perfect than having a private pool – nice and quiet – and located in the UAE so that was my search criteria.

After all my research (ie googling and looking at stunning photographs) and experiences on previous trips I thought I would put together a post on hotel rooms in the UAE with private pools.

Lets start with Dubai where you will find the majority of hotels – no surprise there!

Dubai

1. Al Maha A Luxury Collection Desert Resort And Spa

One bedroom – Avg price per night around 5k AED

Al Maha is just a beautiful resort with all rooms offering private pools. The resort itself is quiet and relatively small with only one main restaurant but then why would you need to leave your room.

See the post here on our stay

I found the rooms very ornate and traditional – pure luxury (very popular for proposals and honeymoons)

2. Per Aquum Desert Palm

One bedroom – Avg price per night around 3k AED

The private villas in Per Aquum Desert Palm are quite impressive and as well as offering a private pool they also offer  in-villa spa services and in-villa BBQ with personal chef on request! However I don’t like these as suites as much as the rest on this list because they are slightly boxed in and you have no view. The resort is lovely though and there is plenty to do but its also quiet and very relaxing – the highlight for me were the grounds that are beautifully maintained.

Try and book at the same time as a polo fixture as it is fun to watch

3. Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa

One bedroom – Avg price per night around 3k AED

The hotel is perched along the shoreline of the Palm and is a large resort. The one-bedroom beach pool villas offer both a private pool and direct access into the ocean.

This hotel is actually one of my favorites in Dubai, I love the meandering pools and dining destinations which I have visited on numerous occasion. Check out my blog posts on two of the main restaurants located in the hotel: Mekong and Bushmans. There are more dinning options – The Beach House and the main buffet area (which do a good brunch on a Friday)

The Sofitel is a lovely resort and has a lot to offer: fourteen restaurants and bars, six swimming pools, a state-of-the-art  SPA, tennis, water sports, a kids club and a ballroom for meetings and weddings!

We were actually meant to fly to Kenya when we stayed here but unfortunately the airport at Kenya had a large fire and all flights were cancelled so this was plan B – Check my post on our stay here

The Beach Villas come with private swimming pool and rooftop terrace. The Polynesian designs looks like it creates a sense of natural island living, with sandstone walls, slatted windows and rich woods. The light-filled villa includes a luxurious living space and three bedrooms, ideal for a large family or group of friends. The villa comes with a personal butler who will respond to your every request, from a private dinner to a sunset cruise or desert excursion.

The pictures on the website look amazing with amazing rates to match but I have heard this is not luxurious or exclusive like the other hotels in the list but a great cheaper options. I’m thinking this could be a nice cheap option to go with family in February.

This is tentatively booked for our second stay vacation – maybe January (to beat the blues that you can get in Dubai.) We had book this for April, last year, for a babymoon but unfortunately had to cancel as I was signed off on bed rest.

So there you have it – my top 10 list of hotel rooms in the UAE with private pools based on a mixture of visits and lots of Googling!

Let me know which one of these are top on your list.
