Abu Dhabi Day Trip from Dubai
So a few months ago (before the Summer heat hit us) we heated to Abu Dhabi for the day just to get out of Dubai and do something different.
It only took us just over an hour and we had a lovely day.
We arrive in Abu Dhabi at arround 11.am
We parked up by the sea and had a walk round.
We headed to Cornish and rented a bike each for an hour and off we went – its such a beautiful ride and the time flew by.
After working up an appetite and having given the bikes back we head for a lovely liquid lunch.
We took our time over lunch and left at around 3pm.
After this we headed to the stunning grand mosque. We have both never visited before but it had been on my wish list for a while.
About the Mosque
The Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, founded this great landmark, featuring four minarets and eighty-two domes, representing different Islamic styles, in support of noble Islamic cultural values, and to express its genuine religious concepts and values.
The mosque accommodates more than 40,000 worshippers; 10,000 in the internal areas and 30,000 in the external areas.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is well known for its diverse Islamic architecture and pure white colour. White marble clads the external walls and columns and features relief carving of verses from Holy Quran and Islamic ornamentation.
If you have not been it is defiantly worth a visits!
